Evan Brodsky is a queer, Jewish, New York based playwright and lyricist. Through writing, Evan enjoys exploring yearning and metaphysics while trying to amplify queer representation.

 

His full length plays include  The Leaves Changing Color in the Fall (Columbia), The Glass Between Stars (The Tank), Kaleidoscope (Semi-Finalist, Lanford Wilson New American Play Festival), The Memory Centre (reading with Dovecote Reading Series) and For(e)bear (staged reading at The Brooklyn Center for Theatre Research). His 10-minute plays include Astronauts (Fresh Fruit Festival), and Horny Island (Columbia). He also wrote the English version of the musical The One by Cnaan Levkovich and Rom Reznik.

He earned a BFA in Drama from NYU and studied the Meisner Technique at William Esper Studio. Evan is an MFA candidate at Columbia University where he is studying under Lynn Nottage and James Ijames.
